The Axe are thrilled to welcome farmhouse brewers Duration through our doors on October 11th. Duration is a destination brewery being set up in Norfolk by Miranda and Bates. Bates was the former head brewer at Brew By Numbers.

Focusing on fresh and sour beers with a strong Belgo-American influence, their first two releases aptly named the 'Roots Range' were brewed nomadically at Amundsen Bryggeri whilst the Duration farmhouse facility was being built.

Check out more info below on the two beers, Turtles All The Way Down' and 'Bet The Farm', which will be coming fresh out the tank. We'll be pouring all day with Bates and Miranda stopping by for a few brews and a natter from 6pm onwards!

Bet The Farm is a hoppy pale that is crisp, dry and elegantly balanced. Light and floral, it ends with refreshing hop bitterness.

Turtles All The Way Down has pronounced hops and a rounded body with soft bitterness.

After the rager of a party that was the KCBC - Hackney 'Sleeping Giants' party back in February, we jumped at the chance to host another launch for Hackney's latest collab - this time with another New York titan, the mighty Finback.
We will be pouring their Deep Water IPA for the very first time on September 6th from 6pm. Jon Swain, founder of Hackney Brewery, gave us the low down on the collab.

"Our second collaboration is with Finback, flying in from Queens, NY, they brew fun, unique beer designed specifically for enjoyment, we couldn't put it better ourselves. They also founded in 2011, same as us!

After long conversations over beers as how to go about brewing this beer, Kevin and Basil have pushed us as a brewery to embrace new methods. It is the first beer where we have propagated our yeast (London III) especially for a brew. Also the dry hopping ratio is off the chart from what we have done before. Freshest hops Vic Secret, Enigma and Citra are packed into this beer, that makes it super juicy and London III yeast adds huge fruity depth to this beer.

We have always considered collaborations as a chance to learn from a hands on point of view new techniques and ways to be able to make the best beer we possibly can. This is a truly special beer for us on our journey and it's amazing to have the opportunity to be able to brew with them.

We will have an awesome selection from their undisputed core collection alongside some incredible collabs.

On Saturday 4th August we will be hosting Florida heavyweights Civil Society.
